IT Institute of Auckland recognises the importance of Education Consultants. Education Agents offer valuable local representation, and can maintain a constant presence within your country. ITIA is selective and works with Education Consultants who are pro-active towards the promotion of New Zealand education and provide a comprehensive service. ITIA works with an international network of highly regarded education agencies in New Zealand and overseas to ensure that prospective students and their families are provided with comprehensive information on ITIA programmes, general information on the New Zealand education system, and up-to-date travel and visa information.
Students who wish to apply to ITIA
As a future international student you may apply directly to ITIA or through one of our registered recruitment agents.
Concerns received about a ITIA-approved Agent
If you have any complaints about the service provided to you by a registered ITIA agent, please let us know and we will investigate and respond to your concern.
Professional Standards and Principles
Representatives who are contracted to ITIA are required to meet a high standard of professionalism, integrity, objectivity, transparency and confidentiality. All agents who represent ITIA are required to comply with the principles and standards in:
- The New Zealand Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students “http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/providers-partners/caring-for-international-students/”
- The London Statement of Principles and the New Zealand Privacy Act 1993 – These are outlined on Education New Zealand’s Agent Code of Conduct at: http://www.enz.govt.nz/sites/public_files/Code%20of%20Conduct%20update%20Aug2013.pdf
ITIA’s international Recruitment Representatives are required to maintain up-to-date knowledge of ITIA’s offerings and to be familiar with our campuses, our cities, and with aspects of living and studying in New Zealand that are pertinent to the international student experience.
Application to be an International Recruitment Representative for ITIA
ITIA will only consider applications from Recruitment Agencies that can demonstrate they have met the standards and principles listed above. Agent profiles that do not demonstrate this within their application form will not be considered.
If you wish to be considered as a Representative of ITIA, please complete the Representative Profile and make a full submission in writing, including:
- the history and nature of your agency (including a link to your website);
- the locations of your offices and the credentials and experience of agency staff;
- a listing of other NZ tertiary institutions represented, and the number of students sent annually to those institutions;
- references from institutions that you represent;
- analysis of the potential for the promotion of ITIA in the market(s) that you work in
The appointment of new International Agents
In normal circumstances, agency appointment is unlikely unless a ITIA International staff member has visited your office(s) and talked to the principal operator(s). It is also generally preferable that the principle operator(s) has visited ITIA’s campuses.
ITIA is not currently processing agent submissions for appointment from the following countries due to ongoing exclusive right negotiation:
- Vietnam
- Malaysia
- Nepal
- Pakistan
- Sri Lanka
- Bangladesh
- Ghana
